    Bethlehem hotel

My family will be in Israel for three weeks at the end of the year.  Because Christmas and Chanukah are at the same time this year we wanted to book our hotels early.  We have secured a place in Jerusalem for the majority of the period, but we wanted to go to Bethlehem for two nights on Dec 24 and Dec 25.  I have tried over and over to book a room at the Intercontinental Jacir Palace, but they haven't been very helpful, and I'm wondering if anyone knows why.

After four times of trying to make that reservation and being turned down for various reasons I think it's time I start to look for another hotel.  Traveling will be myself, my husband, and our 5 year old daughter.  We will be at the Church of the Nativity on Christmas Eve, so we will need to be able to get back fairly easily at a late hour.  We don't need anything fancy, just safe for our family, and high speed internet access is a must.

Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

We're happy you will be coming to celebrate the holidays with us in Israel.  As Bethlehem is under the control of the Palestinian Authority, we cannot help you with information regarding accomodations there.  However it is very close to Jerusalem which offers many housing options.  Information regarding accomodations Israel can be found at:  http://goisrael.com/Tourism_Eng/Items/Accommodations.htm.

Transportation by taxi should be available from Bethlehem to Jerusalem even at late hours of the night.

Have a great flight and we are waiting to welcome you here soon.
