    Beeri forest feb 2008

Last month, as a rainstorm was raging through Israel,

We found ourselfs traveling in the sweet winter sun among millions of red Kalaniot (Anemone) flowers.

At the Beeri forest right near Kibbutz Beeri, no more the an hours drive from Tel Aviv.

Every year at the end of Febuary and through March you can walk through breathtaking carpets of Kalaniot.

In the Beeri forest there are also many magical trails that can be accessed by car or foot.

Recommended to those who want to get away from the pressures of the cities.

    Have fun !

Thank you for reviving my memories of the area around Kibbutz Beeri where I lived 30plus years ago. Its a lovely picture and the poppies remind me of the one to be found in Flanders, it seems strange that these flowers seem to be common around 1st world war sites. The Anzecs were based around Beeri in 1914-18.

    Regards and Thank you.
