How far does the current US dollar go?

I will be arriving in Israel next week and with the decline in the US dollar, I was wondering what is the current impact on the following items:

     typical lunch from street vendor?

    typical lunch from tourist restaurants?

typical souvenirs from street vendor prices?

typical fresh bread from street vendors?

    Thank you in advance!

We're glad to hear that you're coming and know that you will have a great time.  Your question is a very good one and will help you better prepare for your visit.  Yes, the dollar has gone down, while the Israeli shekel has remained stable.  This has led to shekel prices for street food vendors, bread, restaurants, etc. remaining, pretty much, the same.  The result is that in dollar terms most prices for the items you asked about will be about 15-20% higher but are still a great value.

    See you next week.

The price of a typical fast-food lunch in Israel can start from as low as 7$ and can get as high as 13$ (calculated according to a rate of 3.5 ILS per USD). At tourist areas prices obviously go much higher but as distances in Israel are not that great you can always find an affordable place a few kilometers away.

Plain white bread costs (I think) about 2$ because bread prices are regulated. Sliced bread and flavored bread prices, however are considerably higher.

I have no idea about souvenirs, sorry Confused
