Travelling as an individual.

Hi,

I am planning to visit Israel in August for up to three weeks. I am travelling alone and whilst I realise I will need to book tours

for certain day trips,am I naive in thinking I can travel throughout Israel without being involved with a tour group for the duration?

Would you recommend a lone traveller plan their trip through an operator or is it perfectly viable/safe to do your own thing?

Hi Kevin,

First , I wish you a great time in Israel- you will have. It's an amazing country! About the trip- while you're visiting sites , most of them have organized tours in different languages during the day , so you can join them. You can do it in your own way, choose where to sleep, either in cheap but clean places as the youth hostels ( http://www.iyha.org.il/eng/ ) or either by 3-4 stars hotels that are more expensive. While no one can give you a 100% guarantee - Israel is a safe country and very welcoming to travellers. You can easily set your own pace and see Israel on your own.
