How in five days to visit the places I wish to see

Hello!

I plan within the next few days to visit Israel & I wish to visit specific sites

which are of interest to me. I am also elderly.

As the time before I depart is short, I would be most grateful for the speediest

possible reply, please. Thank you.

I will be staying in Tel Aviv for five complete days & I would much appreciate advice on:

i. the best way of visiting

ii. and the *sequence in which to visit,

on public transport or sherut taxis, if at all possible & practicable,

as many as is sensibly possible of the following, please and,

because some visits will probably have to be omitted on this occasion,

I have listed the sites in their order of interest to myself

a. A concert of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra in Tel Aviv, if possible.

b. The Burma Road, as it enters Jerusalem

c. King David hotel, Jerusalem

d. A currently operational Homa u-Migdal community, if possible

or

if none are still in operation, preferably a genuine (not a model) example of Homa u-Migdal

e. Latrun & Mount Scopus

f. Kfar Vitkin

g. Degania Aleph & Bet

h. Ben-Gurion University of the Negev

I realise that I may not be able to see all of these within five days and, if this is the case,

I will hope to visit again & at a later date see those which have to be omitted

I do hope that you will be able to offer me some guidance, please

I'll be staying in Israel for a few months, and was wondering where to find apartment listings in Tel Aviv for 2-3 months, on a very low budget. Even a cheap hostel or something like that would work. What is the best way to find such information? (A friend suggested homless.co.il but it was all in Hebrew, and I couldn't understand it)

Travel with kids Israel for Yom Kippur and Sukot

Hi,

I'm going to be in Israel for Yom Kippur and Sukot. Last time in Israel was 11+ years ago. It will be my kid's first trip (way over due) and I will be based in Jerusalem. I really want to pre plan things to the max so I can deliver a trip to Israel like the ones my parents gave me. I have a couple of questions.

Do I need to buy "tickets" to a Shul for Yom Kippur and any ideals where to go? (The Great Synagogue of Jerusalem would make me throw up. I need an OU or Young Israel type shul around the King David Hotel that has air conditioning and going to have a few hours break unlike The Great Synagogue)

From Jerusalem could I do Masada, Ded Sea, Ein Gedi in one day and come back to Jerusalem. Also, in which order if I'm driving myself? Am I going to survive it with a 7 and 10 year old?

For the Western wall tunnels : Do I really need to book two months in advance as recommended or could I find a tour in the Jewish Quarter that sell it on a daily basis? If I remember correctly there is a building in the Jewish Quarter next to the Cardo that sets up tours of the Old City, could I walk in there and get tickets for that day?

We need transportation and a driver/guide. We would prefer to do it per our schedule instead of just booking a standard tour. While doing research I couldn't find any online travel agency at all, that is aimed at the israelian population to travel abroad.

Is the following itinerary possible and reasonable? Can we enter Jordan on Saturday morning near Eliat, taxi to Petra, sightsee for several hours, reenter Israel near Jerusalem in the early evening and find a taxi to arrive in Jerusalem just before sunset Saturday? Is this a crazy plan or worth doing? Anything special we need to know - Border issues, VISA's ?? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you

I just want to make sure if the statement below is currently being implemented. Has anybody done this?

As of July 2008, foreign passports no longer require entry stamps. Instead, tourists should fill out form 17L, which shall be stamped by passport control upon entry/exit. The form 17L will not be collected upon exit as it is necessary for the collection of tax refunds and proof of legal entry.

I work in the United Arab Emirates, that's why I'm asking.

I am a Filipino who works in Dubai, I am planning to vist israel for the first time, but there's no direct flight from Dubai - Israel, they say I can secure multiple VISA entry to Jordan, and I can cross the border on a bus going to Israel..I don't want my passport stamped, as I am going back to work again in Dubai,,,will this be possible?

What are the other requirements...show money etc..

Hi All,

Too keep this brief, can somebody tell me if my assumptions are correct??

Baiscally arrive in Tel Aviv Sat 11th July at 0500 - therefore only option to get to Jerusalem is by prebooking a Sherut for around $110?

Travel to Petra from Jerusalem Wed 15th - best way will be to get Egged bus to Eilat 4.5 hours and then taxi to Aqaba border then Jordanian taxi to Petra?

Petra to Tel Aviv Fri 17th - same as before back to Eilat then Egged bus back to Tel Aviv around 5 hours?

If anybody knows better ways etc then please let me know - all help really appreciated!!! Thanks!!
